Tanner is digital content marketer and creative leader who, in various positions over the years, has served as an entertainment expert, book author, writer, blogger and editor. He's currently a senior editor with HBO Digital & Social Media, where he has worked since October 2013.

At Entertainment Weekly, Tanner oversees and edits all television reviews for the brand, whether they appear on EW.com or in the TV section of the magazine. His editing duties don't allow him to write as much anymore, but in his writing days he wrote features largely about television, including cover stories on The Good Wife, Pretty Little Liars, Desperate Housewives, and Revenge, as well as prominent pieces on Roseanne Barr, The Real Housewives, How I Met Your Mother, and television ratings as well as music profiles on Ke$ha, Taylor Swift, Nicki Minaj, and the Jonas Brothers. Tanner regularly writes and reports for the magazine's award-winning website, currently penning a blog series on Grey's Anatomy and, in the past, Desperate Housewives, RuPaul's Drag Race, Ugly Betty, and Veronica Mars.
In May 2008, he wrote an entertainment-pegged career-advice book, Find Your Inner Ugly Betty: 25 Career Lessons for Young Professionals Inspired by TV Shows, which was published by Kaplan. Tanner was Ed on Campus Director with magazine-networking group Ed2010 for four years and previously worked at Teen People, the New York Post, and ON DIRECTV and has freelanced for Figure.
